I must be a mermaid...

What a great weekend...

For the first time Kels came to Champion with me. I was excited to share this place, the wonderful people, and the amazing experience with my beautiful roommate. The road trip there was a backroads blast. The first night was stunning. The sky looked like God picked up sand off the beach and blew it into the heavens; the stars were radiant. The next day was filled with running, laughter, and beauty. Kels and I expanded and practiced our Spanish with Abuela... never say, "Tengo hambre de hombres." Or do, it makes for a good laugh! The night was filled with conversation and prayer. The next day was beautiful as we sang... "In the morning, when I rise... give me Jesus." It was wonderful to see Marcela and my little Mico. He's growing to be such a little man. I can't believe he will be two in two months!

After a road trip home Kels and I went to her first travel choir concert. It was wonderful to see my friends singing. Their voices are uplifting...

This morning I slept in only to awake to a visitor scampering across the floor. I have fondly named him Yickey Mouse (the non-cartoon cousin of Mickey). After calling maintenance for help and my mom for comfort I had a lot of anxious energy left. That's the one good thing that came of this mouse, I now have a pristinely clean room! Although I still have laundry to do... so... also pristine?

All in all, this past week has been a continuation of learning to balance school, social, and spiritual. It's been a time to grow deeper with people. To grow deeper in knowledge. To grow deeper with Christ. Deep is the key word! That's where the mermaid thing comes from, I have no fear of growing deeper... only of staying in the shallow.
