The Unexpected

Some things in life are so spectacularly unexpected.
Like the weather for instance. You can predict all you want, but the weather does what it likes. It decides when it will rain and where it will rain.
Children are also wonderfully unpredictable. Like two year old T for instance. Some days he giggles and laughs and cuddles. And others he throws rocks at his sister and dumps his food out on the ground insisting he's on a hunger strike.
Life is also unpredictable.
I learn that lesson slowly.
I plan, I decide, I calculate... and it never turns out quite like I imagine.
"You can make many plans, but the LORD's purpose will prevail." Proverbs 19:21
Lesson I've learned: unexpected is not equivalent to unwanted.
Like a summer rain.
A present.
Visits from friends.
So much more...

Sometimes the unexpected things pop up.
Other times the unexpected creeps up on you.
And often, the unexpected leads to adventures.
It's all part of the journey. And I am willing to walk in the knowledge that despite unexpected events, the goodness of God does not change.
