New Years Doggedness…

I have decided that dogged sounds better than resolved.
And they both really mean determined.
So, this new year I have become determined to do a few things.

  1. No more being even slightly uncomfortable for something “cool” … Okay, so I was pretty specific in fulfilling this one. I ditched the nose ring. (One too many rude awakenings make a girl stubborn enough to leave the nose ring in 2012)
  2. Laugh more. Really laugh. Laugh because the wind blew the trees and made me smile. Laugh because I can smell the oceans after months of being away. Laugh because I can…
  3. Love. More specifically, leaving hate behind. Stop hating things I cannot control. Stop hating things I cannot change. Instead, love what Christ sees in those things and people. Find the potential in situations, people, and things to love them.
  4. To Travel. Maybe it will be Boston or maybe it will be Ireland, but I have been putting it off until “next summer/year” and it’s time that I just go. “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.” St. Augustine
  5. Write a letter once a week. To anyone, mailed or delivered, but constant!

So there you have it… I will be dogged in those five things.
Diligently doing them throughout the year.
Taking it one day at a time, starting today.

Happy New Year friends, if you do nothing else with this year I beg of you to find joy in it.
