Today I asked my friend what he was up to. His answer? Writing a story about Ninja's in ancient Rome. Of course! What else would you be doing on a Friday night!? So I went online and proceeded to read said story... amazing of course! I love random ninja stories. The best part? I'm pretty sure we could and would stay up all night talking about crazy ninja's...
Today was fun. I learned fun stuff in the morning. Went the the beach with my Elphie in the afternoon. Got pizza (my favorite food ever!) and then went to the library to give my favorite LIT #1 some garlic knots. I knew she'd love them because they had EXTRA garlic today! Truly, those knots were amazing! After which, we headed off to watch Ponyo! I love studio Ghilbi movies, Hayao Miyazaki is amazing. I love his style. Those movies are always great. I know that if I'm watching Ghilbi, I will not be disappointed. How do I know this? Because I haven't been disappointed so far! Elphie loved Ponyo too! Who wouldn't, cute little kids are the stories center on true love. Who knows more about the truest kinds of love than innocent children?
So... after a long day of that I went to Alumni Fellowship. Went is the wrong word, it is at my house after all. We studied the first chapter of Nehemiah. First of all, isn't that an interesting name? It means 'God has comforted'. Nehemiah was the cup bearer for an enemy king. Back in ancient times, cup bearer meant that Nehemiah would taste all the king's food to make sure it wasn't poisoned. But Nehemiah was loyal to the one true God. I read about how he prayed for Israel. How he knew the scripture. How he acknowledged God's power and might. What really stuck with me thought was the way Nehemiah sounded like he was talking WITH God. Not AT God, not TO God, but with God. It was more personal. It stuck with me. Also, when Nehemiah was devastated about the walls being knocked down (the walls were Israel's last protection) do you know what he did? He cried. He fasted. Then he prayed. In that order. That's pretty cool. When I'm upset that's not usually the order that I do things in. It makes me realize, prayer isn't meant to be a last result. It's meant to be in the top 3... Cry and pour your heart out. Put aside distractions of life. Sit and chat with God to see what's going on.
Ninja's in Rome sounds pretty amazing!
