Let Them Eat Cake! And popcorn...

Today was delightful! For the first time in weeks I was able to nanny my lovely little girls. We spent the majority o the day building a large fort that ended up taking over their entire living room. It was amazing. Even if in the end they stated I was not allowed to live in their fort. I understand that logic, most architects don't end up living in the houses they mastermind for other people. I think I could build forts for the rest of my life. Dad says it's my niche.

After fort building I went over to my neighbors for tea. Ms J is so fun to hang out with. She's lived in my town her whole life and has watched how it's changed. It's fascinating to listen to the stories she has. To hear about how she's traveled. She's a writer too, so it's all so detailed and elegant. Really, I can't resist a good story. And she always has the best iced tea! After I taught her the Butterfly dance I learned in World Dance this year, she agreed to be interviewed for a class assignment I have (summer homework). It was fun to hear her answers and points of view. All in all a lovely time.

My last escapade of the night would have made my hipster college proud. After buying cake at a local bakery Misfit and I went on a brand new adventure. We went to see a foreign Indie film at a small theater. The film was "Les Adieux a la Reine (Farewell, My Queen)". It was a film about Marie Antoinette in her last few days before Versailles was stormed by the rebellion and she was officially declared a prisoner. The story was told form the point of view of a young maid in court who was the Queens reader. I liked that it was in French with subtitles, filmed in Versailles, and had beautiful costumes. I was iffy on the character development and plot. But who am I to complain? It was a beautiful time out with Misfit, and a wonderful first foreign film.

The countdown begins... Tomorrow I only have seven days left until I move back to school for RA training.
