Tonight I had the most fun I have had here...
And I do not say that lightly, because I have had a LOT of fun being at college.
But tonight took the cake!
It started off with dinner, and then some studying.
But then a group of us girls got together and started a bible study.
No school prompting, no encouragement from any parents... just us, because we love Jesus, and we love each other. Because we realize we need prayer and accountability partners. It's fantastic! I was so excited to just start getting to know these girls more and more.
Right after that I had swing.
Now, let me tell you, I have danced swing before, but never like tonight.
Tonight I just went at it!
I let loose and danced almost every dance for 2 hours!
I learned new tricks and I wasn't embarrassed to dance at all!
It was just me and my friends (and 40 people I didn't know), enjoying life and having fun.
When swing was "over" we went outside in the rain and danced on the turf.
Yup... tonight I was swing dancing in the rain.
And for the first time my feet FLEW off the ground.
Now, I have told you before that they lifted... but this is different. When your feet fly off the ground your entire body is vertical to the ground. Almost completely upside-down, totally hoping you won't get dropped. And it's exhilarating!
It's freedom, trust, letting go. You can't hold on to all you're worried about and be practically upside down. There's just something about swing that lifts my spirits and brings reminders of joy to my heart...
I think I make a new noise of excitement every time I'm dipped. :)
If you have never been dipped in the rain, try it some time.
It's really magnificent.
And after that, do you know what us college kids did on the turf?
Duck duck goose.
We played duck duck goose for I'm not sure how long, and it was great!
Then a bunch of my friends and I had a study party.
We all met in one lounge, with separate books and just studied separately together.
And when Em wanted to discuss something she liked, we did.
And when I needed help with math, I got it.
And when Tim needed a pencil, we all shared.
It was great!
I never really had a study group before, and I really loved it.
Then we just relaxed and talked for a little while before I headed back home with Kels and Em.
Home... that's what my dorm feels like.
It's kinda great.
I mean, I have my house and my family.
But I feel settled here.
It's a wonderful feeling...
The love and support that is surrounding me here is more than I ever could have imagined...
That is so incredible!!! Who says you need airplanes to fly?
