Friday I wasn't feeling so well and everything of my weekend plans went up in the air. Sometimes, change can really throw me off. I already felt physically thrown off feeling a little sick and all the decision making, shuffling of plans, calling of companies, and adjusting of life felt exhausting. After curling up for a long afternoon nap my dear Kelsey came over for a visit to ask what we would do that night. Turns out that swing dancing was an option. Tired of making decisions my friends made it for me and whisked me away into the night...
It was exactly what I needed.
I put on a pretty dress and danced the night away.
I laughed, I jitterbugged, I walked in the snow.
The dance was at a place called the Ballroom on High, a beautiful ballroom on the third story of an old building. You walk in under an awning from the 1930's and step back in time...
After a while of dancing I took a breather and went outside on the balcony. The town was lit up with neon snowflakes attached to their old fashioned street lamps. The snow was falling lightly in fluffy flakes. Standing there with the dance behind me and the magic in front I really did feel like I had stepped through time. What a refreshing notion for my old soul...
I could breathe in the brisk air and feel a shift in my attitude toward the day. Sometimes change can lead to the most unexpected things, and the unexpected can be glorious.
