Today was amazing!
Seriously, I think today is the first day that I really feel like I live here. Like I belong here. Like this is where I am supposed to be. This is where God wants me.
It started with a 'Student Inventory'. Which is basically a personality and study habits evaluation. It wasn't painful, just long... and we had to be there at 8:30. But over all it was pretty painless. Then I went back to the room and called a few people for school purposes, one of which was the choir director. While asking him questions he said I should just come in at 11:20. I figured that was for talking and such, but I figured wrong. It was actually a choir audition! Insane! I was so unprepared, but I guess Jesus wants me singing because it went really well and I think that I'll be in. Which is really exciting. Turns out that you can actually use it as a one credit class so I'm going to see if I can work it out so that I can use it as a class!
After that I meandered over to the library and talked to Mr Mokonyama about getting a job there. SCORE! I got an interview on Thursday! I'm really excited, even though I hear the pay isn't great, I think it'll be worth it. I hope it'll be worth it! I HOPE I GET THE JOB! Then off to lunch with Kels where I met Tim and Justin. They're pretty cool, and they love music too. And since Justin and I are in the same name group we headed over to the next meeting together. The meeting was a little helpful, and only 45 minutes. AND, it was my LAST orientation as a freshman... what do you think of that? Crazy no?
Then I had to go back and take and online evaluation test. Meaning math and writing. It counts towards a participation grade, but not a test grade. It wasn't that bad.
Then I did something that made me feel SO much better... I took a NAP! For a few hours. I missed dinner actually, but it was worth it!
When I woke up Justin had texted me and Kels about a Jam session going on in another dorm so we rushed over. It was amazing. Guitar, harmonica, two jimbays, saxophone, and singing! (FYI Kels plays the piano, guitar, and saxophone! but Julia was playing tonight) It was the best. We sang worship songs in a spirit of community and had SO much fun rockin out! It lasted for a few hours and then Tim and Justin walked me and Kels back to our dorm (so no creepers attacked us of course... hahaha). And we stood outside for a while (after Rob joined us) talking about a range of fun theological discussions... there was a falling in the mud incident but I wash my hands of that embarrassment... heh.
The time tonight was refreshing. And let's just say... I could get used to it here.
Easily.
In fact... I sort of love it here!
